The Polish Chamber of Insurance is once again taking part in the Global Money Week educational campaign. The slogan of this year’s event is ‘Protect your money, secure your future’. Therefore, we will try to show that insurance is an essential part of the household budget if we want to be safe. We would like to invite you to participate in this event together with the Office of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (UKNF), the Ministry of Finance and many other partners under the OECD initiative.
This year will see the 12th edition of the Global Money Week (GMW), is an international financial education campaign addressed to children and young people from all over the world. It will take place between 18 and 24 March 2024.
The slogan of GMW 2024 is ‘Protect your money, secure your future’; therefore, we will focus on the safe management of money. We emphasise the importance of a responsible and informed approach to personal finances by understanding potential risks, including those of fraud and cyberattack. In our materials we will focus on the wise management of concerns, and we will show a variety of insurance products that will help with this. We will show how insurance works – to strengthen financial competence in this area, raise awareness of how we conclude insurance contracts, and what we need to take into account.
Protect your money, secure your future
The GMW is organised by the International Network on Financial Education operating at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD/INFE). Since 2012, more than 60 million children and young people from 176 countries worldwide have participated in the campaign.
In Poland, the campaign forming part of the educational project of the Education Centre for Market Participants (CEDUR) is coordinated by the Office of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
PIU at GMW
As part of Global Money Week 2024, the Polish Chamber of Insurance invites its participants to watch a series of videos about insurance. The recordings can also add variety to curriculum classes as part of the new subject ‘Business and Management’. This is knowledge in a nutshell – we will present all the relevant information that is worth learning about insurance. The recordings will also be available on our website. Meanwhile, we would like to encourage you to read other educational materials on insurance prepared for the GMW – these include lesson scenarios for teachers, comics and podcasts.
